Jacksonville to Release QB Leftwich

1010XL in Jacksonville is reporting that at a 5:30pm news conference, the Jacksonville Jaguars will announce their intentions to release or trade QB Byron Leftwich, the team's 1st round draft pick in 2003.

This would leave David Garrard as the logical choice to start, with nearby Atlanta an obvious landing spot for Leftwich. Another team who could be interested in Leftwich are the Seattle Seahawks, who are in the market for a veteran backup QB who would free Seneca Wallace up to do more things in the offense and on special teams.
