Saints Re-Sign K John Kasay

The New Orleans Saints announced the re-signing of veteran kicker John Kasay to a one-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Originally selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round of the 1991 NFL Draft out of Georgia, Kasay spent four seasons in Seattle before spending 15 seasons with the Carolina Panthers. Signed to a one-year contract by the Saints as Garrett Hartley was out with a hip injury, Kasay was 28-of-34 on field goal attempts and a perfect 63-of-63 on extra points in 16 games last season.

Overall, Kasay is 461-of-563 on field goal attempts and ranks eighth all-time with 1,970 points. Kasay is a 16-game season away from moving all the way up to third place and will have to beat out Hartley to earn that opportunity.
