Texans P Brett Hartmann Suspended Four Games

Houston Texans punter Brett Hartmann has been suspended four games by the National Football League for violating the league's substance abuse policy, John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Undrafted out of Central Michigan, Hartmann averaged 37.8 yards on 58 punts, with 15 punts inside the opponents' 20-yard line, in 12 games before being placed on injured reserve with a torn ACL.

According to McClain, Hartmann got credit for one game served during the post-season and will miss the first three weeks of the 2012 season. Hartmann's suspension would cost him $109,412 of his $465,000 base salary next season.
