Cowboys Sign FS Brodney Pool

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett disclosed that the team has signed free agent safety Brodney Pool, ESPN Dallas reports.

"He has some really good ball skills," Garrett said of Pool.

A second round pick out of Oklahoma by the Cleveland Browns, the 6-foot-2, 214-pound Pool has 364 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 13 interceptions over his seven-year career with the Browns (2005-09) and New York Jets, who have signed him to a pair of one-year deals the last two seasons.

Pool played for Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan during his final season with the Browns and was a 2011 free agent target of the Cowboys, who hired Ryan last off-season.
