Redskins Re-Sign Darrion Scott

The Washington Redskins announced that they have re-signed defensive lineman Darrion Scott.

Terms were not disclosed.

Selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the third round of the 2004 NFL Draft out of Ohio State, the 6-foot-3, 289-pound Scott had 128 tackles and 9.5 sacks in 48 games over four seasons with the Vikings, including two seasons (2005, 2006) in a starting role.

Off-field incidents kept Scott out of the NFL in 2008 and 2009, but he would resurface with the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League. With former Tuskers head coach Jim Haslett coordinating the Redskins defense, Scott was signed by the Redskins and has six tackles in nine games over the last two seasons.

Scott was scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent in March.
