The Cincinnati Bengals have announced the signing of free agent running back Aaron Brown.
Terms were not disclosed.
A 2009 sixth-round pick out of TCU by the Detroit Lions, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound Brown started two of 21 games over his first two seasons, gaining 189 yards on 44 carries with 17 receptions for 129 yards and a touchdown out of the backfield. Brown also averaged 22.6 yards on 42 kick returns and recorded one tackle on special teams as a rookie.
The Lions waived Brown before the start of the 2011 season, but he was re-signed later in the season. In one appearance, Brown had one carry for zero yards and a nine-yard reception.
While Brown was a free agent last season, he had workouts with the Tennessee Titans, Philadelphia Eagles, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings.
