With Super Bowl XLVI bringing the 2011 season to an end, the next phase of the NFL calendar is free agency, which begins at 4pm ET on March 13. Teams will begin placing restricted free agent tenders in the coming weeks, and can use the franchise tag on unrestricted free agents from February 20-March 5.
In case you missed it last week, the following players have received base salary increases for the 2012 season. This list will be updated as more increases roll in.
I've also compiled a list of players eligible to be Restricted Free Agents, sorted by position, and those who are eligible to be Unrestricted Free Agents, also sorted by position.
Minimum amounts for restricted free agent tenders are as follows:
Right of First Refusal/Original Round: $1.26 million
Second Round: $1.927 million
First Round: $2.742 million
There is no "First- and Third-Round" tender in the new collective bargaining agreement.
Projected Franchise Tag tender amounts: Offense, Defense
