Former Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell interviewed for the Pittsburgh Steelers' offensive coordinator vacancy this weekend, Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reports.
The Steelers opted not to bring back Bruce Arians, who has since been hired by the Colts.
Caldwell, 57, has head coaching experience at the college and NFL level, but has not coached at the coordinator level. A position coach in college before his head coaching opportunity, Caldwell followed the same career arc in the NFL, coaching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterbacks in 2001 before following Tony Dungy to the Colts in 2002.
From 2002-08, Caldwell as the Colts' quarterbacks coach/assistant head coach before replacing Dungy in 2009.
