Jack Del Rio A Possible Defensive Coordinator Candidate In Denver

With Dennis Allen agreeing to become the head coach of the Oakland Raiders, former Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio could replace Allen as the defensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos, Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reports.

As La Canfora notes, prior to his eight-plus year stint as the Jaguars head coach, Del Rio spent one season as Broncos head coach John Fox's defensive coordinator with the Carolina Panthers.

1-15 and boasting the league's 31st-ranked defense in 2001, the addition of Fox and Del Rio (and Julius Peppers) led to the Panthers allowing the second-fewest yards in the NFL (290.4 per game) and ranking fifth in scoring defense in 2002.
