Houston Texans 2012 Free Agency Overview

The Houston Texans enter the 2012 off-season with 54 players under contract for next season and three players under club control. Several key starters are among the 16 unrestricted free agents, including outside linebacker Mario Williams. The No. 1 overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft could receive the franchise tag, which would cost the Texans $21.99 million, 120 percent of his 2011 cap number of $18.325 million. Starting center Chris Myers and right guard Mike Brisiel are also unrestricted free agents.
