University of Georgia cornerback Brandon Boykin suffered a leg injury during Saturday afternoon's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, David Purdum of the Athens Banner-Herald reports.
Boykin was taken for X-rays and former UGA quarterback and current radio host Buck Belue reported that the cornerback's leg was broken and needed surgery. Boykin later downplayed the injury on Twitter.
"Everyone I appreciate the prayers.It's not as bad as the reports have said. Small set back.b back in 3 weeks! Cheer up!God makes no mistakes," Boykin wrote.
In 53 career game at UGA, Boykin recorded 159 tackles, including 20 for a loss with nine interceptions and 18 passes defensed. Boykin also had 103 rushing yards and one touchdown, caught five passes for 71 yards and two touchdowns and averaged 12.9 yards on 14 punt returns with two touchdowns and 24.2 yards with four touchdowns on 110 kick returns.
Boykin is projected to be a Day Two draft choice (round two or three) and has been invited to the 2012 Scouting Combine, which begins on February 22.
