Ravens Sign K Shayne Graham

The Baltimore Ravens announced the signing of free agent kicker Shayne Graham.

Graham went to training camp with the Ravens in 2010, but lost the kicking battle to Billy Cundiff, a 2010 Pro Bowler who is battling a calf injury that has affected his accuracy this season. Cundiff is just 27-of-36 on field goal attempts in 2011, missing three of his last five attempts. After tying an NFL record for touchbacks in 2010, Cundiff has just four touchbacks in last 12 kickoffs.

The Ravens signed Cundiff to a five-year, $14.7 million contract extension last January.

A Pro Bowler himself in 2005, Graham spent the majority of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals before signing with the Ravens in 2010, a season he wound up splitting between the New York Giants and New England Patriots, where he went a perfet 12-for-12 on field goal tries as an injury replacement for Stephen Gostkowski.

Graham went to training camp this season with the Washington Redskins, but did not make their 53-man roster. Graham had a two-game stint with the Miami Dolphins, going 4-for-5 on field goals as a replacement for an injured Dan Carpenter. During his career, Graham is 212-for-247 (85.8%) on field goal attempts.

To make room for Graham, worked for the Ravens on December 9, the Ravens have placed linebacker Chavis Williams on injured reserve with a foot injury.
