Jaguars Sign CBs Robert McClain, Darcel McBath

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced the signings of free agent defensive backs Darcel McBath and Robert McClain to the 53-man roster. Rookie defensive backs T.J. Heath (shoulder) and Chris Prosinski (thumb) were placed on injured reserve.

McBath was a 2009 second-round pick (48th overall) out of Texas Tech by the Denver Broncos. McBath started one of 20 games with the Broncos over the 2009 and 2010 seasons, totaling 43 tackles and a pair of interceptions. Released by the Broncos on September 4, McBath had workouts with the Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans, Oakland Raiders, Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears and New England Patriots this season.

McClain was a seventh-round pick (249th overall) out of UCONN by the Carolina Panthers. McClain started two of 16 games last season, making 16 tackles, half of which came on special teams. Like McBath, McClain hit the NFL workout circuit the last few months, including a tryout with the Jaguars on October 31.

In addition to McBath and McClain joining the 53-man roster, the Jaguars have added former Seattle Seahawks kicker Brandon Coutu to the practice squad. Josh Scobee has a groin injury which puts his availability for Thursday night's game against the Atlanta Falcons in question.
