The Oakland Raiders announced the signing of free agent cornerback Bryan McCann.
Originally signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Methodist, McCann has split the last two seasons on the active roster and practice squads of the Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens.
In nine games for the Cowboys last season, McCann had 15 tackles and an interception, which he returned 101 yards for a touchdown. McCann also averaged 22 yards on 23 kick returns and averaged 20.6 yards on eight punt returns, one of which he brought back 97 yards for a touchdown. McCann has appeared in two games with the Cowboys and three games with the Ravens, making one tackle and averaging 26.3 yards on three kick returns and 6.5 yards on two punt returns.
To make room for McCann, 2011 fourth-round pick Chimdi Chekwa has been placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.
