Jets Sign OT Austin Howard Off Ravens Practice Ssquad

The New York Jets have signed offensive tackle Austin Howard off the Baltimore Ravens practice squad, Howard's agent, Kevin Robinson, announced on Twitter.

Originally signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Iowa in 2010, Howard was active for four games as a rookie, starting the regular season finale against the Dallas Cowboys as the team rested players for the post-season.

Waived by the Eagles in September, Howard joined the Ravens' practice squad in September, where he was earning $5,700 in non-guaranteed salary each week. By signing off the practice squad, Howard is guaranteed three game checks ($79,411) from the Jets, even if they release him during that stretch.
