Chargers Sign RB Curtis Brinkley To Active Roster

The San Diego Chargers have signed first-year running back Curtis Brinkley to the 53-man roster, Scott Bair of the North County Times reports.

Originally signed as an undrafted free agent out of Syracuse in 2009, Brinkley spent his rookie season on the non-football injury after he was shot in his native Philadelphia. Brinkley has spent most of the last two seasons on the Chargers' practice squad, appearing in three games in 2010.

Brinkley had two rushing attempts for 11 yards in 2010.

To make room for Brinkley, the Chargers have waived running back Jordan Todman, a 2011 sixth-round pick out of UCONN and the 2010 Big East Offensive Player of the Year. Todman has not appeared in a game this season.
