Saints Waive DT Mitch King

The New Orleans Saints waived defensive tackle Mitch King on Monday, a league source confirmed.

Originally signed by the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa in 2009, King spent his rookie season on the team's practice squad. King had three tackles in four games for the Indianapolis Colts and spent a few weeks on the St. Louis Rams' practice squad in 2010.

In three games for the Saints this season, King has three tackles, including one for a loss. No corresponding transaction has been made, but the Saints sustained injuries along the offensive line -- center Olin Kreutz, right tackle Zach Strief -- in Sunday's 40-33 win over the Houston Texans and may be looking to add bodies on the side of the ball.
