The St. Louis Rams announced that they have re-signed veteran wide receiver Mark Clayton.
Acquired last September from the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a sixth-round pick, Clayton quickly became a favorite target of quarterback Sam Bradford, catching 22 passes for 300 yards and a pair of touchdowns over the first four weeks of the season before a torn patellar tendon landed the former first-round pick out of Oklahoma on injured reserve in Week 5.
Clayton, 29, had hoped to re-sign with the Rams, but the club was waiting for his knee to improve before signing a contract.
In addition to Clayton, the Rams signed well-traveled defensive tackle Marlon Favorite on Wednesday. To make room for Clayton and Favorite, cornerbacks Marquis Johnson (knee) was placed on the "Reserve/PUP" list and Jerome Murphy (ankle) was placed on injured reserve.
