Alabama head coach Nick Saban organized a conference call between himself, other college coaches, athletic directors, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, NFLPA representatives, and couple of player agents to discuss agents and their contact with college players.
What exactly was discussed during the call has not been disclosed.
Saban believes the NFLPA is not doing enough to monitor and discipline the "pimps" that hang around college programs, so he's barred NFL scouts from his Alabama practices this summer.
This doesn't make much sense, especially when you consider that at the same time he's shooing NFL scouts out one door, he's laying out the welcome mat for ESPN cameras to film the "Alabama All-Access" series, which will run later this month on ESPNU.
"Nobody has been talking about it," Alabama junior center William Vlachos said of Saban's scout ban. "That's coach's call, and he's got a reason for every decision he makes, and we go along with it.
"We follow him and we trust him."
Wonder if some of Vlachos' draft-eligible teammates share that sentiment.
