Former Seattle Seahawks coaches Jim Mora and Chris Beake, dismissed by the team after the 2009 season, will help coach the Bellevue (Wash.) High School team in 2010, reports Mason Kelley of the Seattle Times.
Beake, who has been a position coach in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons and coached with the San Francisco 49ers, was an offensive and special teams assistant with the Seahawks last season. Beake be the Wolverines' defensive coordinator.
"It's very exciting, because Bellevue is a national program," Beake said. "It's a great opportunity for me personally just to kind of come and do some things I've learned over my career on defense and implement them and run things myself."
According to Bellevue head coach Butch Goncharoff, Mora's role is unclear.
"Jim will be involved," Goncharoff said. "I don't know in what capacity yet. It's great. He's an outstanding guy in whatever capacity we get him, even if it's only for spring ball or summer. It's great to have him around. He's a great resource for us."
After he was fired by the Seahawks, Mora did some work for the NFL Network, and would be a natural as an in-studio analyst for them this fall. 950-KJR in Seattle, a station Mora made controversial comments to when he was the Atlanta Falcons' head coach in 2006, and who last year aired "The NFL Show with Mike Holmgren", would presumable be very interested in having Mora on their airwaves on a regular basis in 2010, as well.
Mora discussed his post-Seahawk future with Dave "Softy" Mahler and Hugh Millen, Mora's former college roommate, on 950-KJR a few days after he was fired by the Seahawks.
