During an appearance on Jim Rome's "Rome is Burning" show today, former Seattle Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander hopes to continue his NFL career.
"If the right team calls, and they are ready to go, I'd be ready. I've been training non-stop to be ready to go," Alexander said to Rome, via ProFootballTalk.com.
With Seahawks' president and general manager Tim Ruskell announcing his resignation today, Alexander said he was a "Holmgren guy" and that he didn't like the direction the franchise has been headed in the last few years. Of course, it was Ruskell who signed Alexander to an 8-year, $62M contract that guaranteed him $15.1 million dollars in 2006, after his MVP season.
So while Alexander may have been drafted by Holmgren, he was paid by Ruskell.
