PFT: Holmgren in Play for Seahawks' Job

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com reports that with Seattle Seahawks general manager Tim Ruskell resigning today, former Seahawks GM and head coach Mike Holmgren is "in play" for one or both of the jobs.

Big shock, I know.

Florio also accurately points out that the Rooney Rule will require the Seahawks to interview a minority candidate for these positions, though as I pointed out on Monday, the Seahawks could hire Holmgren as the top executive and promote Director of Pro Personnel Will Lewis, an 11-year veteran of the team's personnel department Holmgren originally hired back in 1999 and who is African-American.

The Seahawks press conference should begin within the next 10 minutes.
