Kristi Swartz of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that during his arrest Thursday night, Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux admitted to smoking marijuana that evening.
According to the police report, Babineaux picked up his friend, Aaron Robinson, at Hartsfield-Jackson airport and took him to purchase marijuana. After the purchase, Robinson was smoking marijuana while the two men drove north on I-85, and Robinson said that Babineaux "smoked from the marijuana blunt at least two or three times."
After claiming that he lent his Cadillac Escalade to friends earlier in the week, and that they had smoked marijuana, Babineaux admitted that he had, in fact, smoked marijuana that night.
Since the arrest came to light, the Falcons have stated that they're going to legal process run its course. Babineaux played in the Falcons' 26-23 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, and was credited with three tackles.
