Seahawks, Hill Agree to Six-Year Deal

The Seattle Seahawks have signed linebacker Leroy Hill to a six-year, $38.5 million dollar contract that includes $15.5 million dollar in guarantees.

As reported earlier, the Seahawks removed the franchise tag, in part, to help expedite negotiations on a long-term contract. Seahawks head coach Jim Mora commented during an interview on 950 KJR-AM in Seattle that he wouldn't be surprised if a long-term deal was reached, perhaps before the start of mini-camp on Friday. An hour later, Ian Furness of KJR reported that Hill was optimistic about reaching a deal with the 'Hawks before Friday, as well.

In his four NFL seasons, all with the Seahawks, Hill has started 50 of 56 games, made 329 tackles, registered 13.5 sacks and forced 7 fumbles.

With this signing, and the upcoming deal for Aaron Curry, the Seahawks starting linebackers, which also includes three-time Pro Bowler Lofa Tatupu, will be signed through the 2014 season. (Tatupu is signed through 2015.)
