NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced today that he has decided to reinstate cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, on a limited basis.
Jones will be able to participate in the off-season training activities, as well as training camp. A decision on whether or not he will be allowed to participate in regular season games will be made by September 1st, 2008.
Here's a reaction statement from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones:
"This limited re-instatement is a step in the process. Adam is aware of the things that need to be done in order to take the next step."
Jones' reinstatement, albeit limited, should come as no surprise as it's long been thought that Jones would not have acquired Pacman without some assurances from Goodell that reinstatement would happen in 2008. (Jones is, after all, one of Goodell's bosses.)
