NFL News and Notes - June 7th, 2008

Today's forecast in the Boston area calls for hazy, hot and humid weather, with temperatures expected to reach the low 90s. This heatwave is expected to last until Wednesday, therefore, I've got to dig the fans out of the attic this morning so as to avoid melting.

This means there's only time for the "morning links", but we'll be back tomorrow with a statistical analysis of the Chris Baker situation in New York, as well as taking a closer look at what sort of deals Chris Long and Glenn Dorsey can expect from the Rams and Chiefs.

Go Big Brown!

Patriots tackle Nick Kaczur practiced at right guard on Friday.

New York Jets tight end Chris Baker spent his Friday riding a stationary bike and ripping the Jets' front office.

"My advice to guys would be if you're going to do anything, as far as with this organization, get it in writing," Baker said. "Because things may be said with a wink and then the next thing you know they say something has been misconstrued. This is three times and, like I said, this is going to continue to happen."

Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Kyle Williams has been working alongside Marcus Stroud during the OTA's.

With training camp just seven weeks away, the Miami Dolphins are no closer to finding a starting quarterback. Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor and VP of Football Ops Bill Parcells met at Grande Oaks GC on Thursday.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are taking a new approach with their mini-camp. Jaguars safety Gerald Sensabaugh apologized for his reckless-driving arrest on Friday.

Houston Texans tackle Charles Spencer's knee, which he injured in Week 2 of the 2006 season, still won't allow him to practice, and with training camp roster space limited this year, the team has to decide whether or not he can contribute in 2008.

The Denver Broncos passing game can't afford to lose Tony Scheffler. Broncos center Tom Nalen underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on Friday, but should be ready for training camp.

Kansas City Chiefs safety Greg Wesley unexpectedly showed up at mini-camp on Friday.

Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden actually received $19.685 million in guaranteed money, but escalators could see that number grow to $26 million.
