Former NFL defensive end Johnathan Goddard died Sunday morning following a motorcycle accident in Clay County, Florida on Saturday night.
Goddard, 27, a former Marshall University standout, was drafted in the 6th round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. Goddard was waived by the Lions before the 2005 season began, but he spent some time with the Indianapolis Colts before eventually playing for the Colorado Crush in the Arena Football League.
Goddard leaves behind two children, daughter Baylee and son John, Jr.
