NFL Training Camp Notes - July 31st, 2007

Rookie Tony Ugoh is the early favorite to replace Tarik Glenn as the Colts' left tackle.

Rams CB Fakhir Brown wants to clear the air: He didn't fail the drug test that led to his 4-game suspension, he missed the test because he was working at his youth football camp. (And helping little old ladies cross the street, fetching cats who climbed to high in trees and removing Titliest's from the blowholes of beached whales)

The Minnesota Vikings are downplaying the forearm contusion suffered by RB Chester Taylor in today's practice.

Packers RB Vernand Morency will miss two weeks
, opening the door for rookie RB Brandon Jackson to start this year.

After shipping Dante Hall across state to the Rams, the search is on in Chiefs camp for a new punt returner.

Ravens defensive coordinator had 340-pound Haloti Ngata blitzing from the middle linebacker spot. (Yikes)

Willie Parker's goal is to be like LaDainian Tomlinson, only better. (Which is about as realistic as my goal of one day being Scarlett Johannsen's bike seat)

The injury to Panthers LB Na'il Diggs doesn't look serious.

The injury to Jaguars C Brad Meester is serious.

Daunte Culpepper is heading to Oakland for a workout. Meanwhile, talks between the Raiders and #1 pick QB JaMarcus Russell are going nowhere fast.
